OPShots at Portland...

This is me on top of the parking garage with the PWM tower and my OPShots ID.  I spent a number of hours on the top floor of the garage with no problems at all.  I was in full view of the tower and the TSA employees park on that level.  One nice lady came up in civilian clothes and a camera and asked to see my ID's which I always wear.  Turns out she was an off-duty TSA agent and she was there to photograph the arrival of her sister who was coming in from JFK on JetBlue.

Even though we were in a public area and she was in plain clothes and not a uniform, I gladly obliged.  Why?  Because it is typical and known behavior for all airport personnel to do such things.  We are constantly vigilant and can in fact, be fined if we DON'T check an ID on display.  We are often tested for compliance by the TSA in secure areas, and I don't mind if they check on other areas of the airport as well.  (If I was at the 100th Bomb Group lot, I would in fact have felt violated, but this was still airport property.)

She turned out to be a real nice lady and we chatted for quite a while until her sister's plane arrived...I gave her an OPShots card and filled her head with all kinds of geekiness!

If you read this...Hi Alice!  :)
