that I work in the field of emergency medical services vs aviation. Watching all these mergers and votes going on with employees in the industry, at least I  have some stability.

I feel bad for all you guys wondering if your company is going to survive, be taken over, or force you out through lay-offs.  :(

I feel the way you do, it is one of the main reasons I got into trucking in the first place, this country runs off of trucks..... there will always be a trucking job somewhere. Now my roots are in aviation and will always love it and if something worth while ever opened back up, I would consider it but for now, I'm truckin'.

Thanks for the kind words.  It is hard for those of us in the field who, no matter how good and stable your job may seem, always have that thought hanging in the back of our minds.  Dang near anything can happen, and indeed it is...even Southwest is playing the game now.  It's an uncertain time for many of us, but it's completely out of our control and we just float along and hope for the best...that's all we can do!

I've got a good Friend who works for CO and is taking it just like you Chuck, a day at a time. The thought of possibly losing you lively hood isn't anything I would ever wish on my worst enemy..... I for one do firmly believe that a Higher Power, whom or whatever you may call him/it is looking out and has our best interest in mind.... my buddy has been in my prayers and I should just as well add everyone who may be possibly affected by this merger...
