This morning another weather event was on display as a HUGE lake effect wall cloud huged the shoreline as far east and west as you could see. The beauty unfolded as the first light of day came. It looked like the rocky mountain range and over the 3+hours we viewed it.
John English got a great shot of a SWA 737 being deiced here with the "mountain range" behind it. I caught a FDX727 around 10am still with the wall cloud still in the same place...Quite a sight ............
                                                      Heres a couple more pics......

Indeed it was a sweet cloud formation. I saw it this morning too.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Wow, that's impressive!  I'm not usually up that early to catch these things.  And Chris, I bet you're right about it being the storm that dumped on BUF!

Look out Snow Belt. The top of that think looks to be cranking up to around 18,000ft. Reminds me of the eye wall clouds formations in massive Hurricanes.

Powered by a 300hp John Deere 6081H Natural Gas fueled engine connected to an Allison B400R6 six speed automatic transmission.

Reminds me of why I hate Cleveland in the winter.  :embarassed:

Sorry to get technical with you, but that is called a shelf cloud rather than a wall cloud.  A wall cloud is associated with the core of a thunderstorm, while a shelf cloud delineates the leading edge of a storm (not necessarily a thunderstorm.)  It is still striking!
