With the clear skies we've been having the Perseid meteor show should be a good one tonight, plus, the added bonus of the Space Station flyby should make for a nice night of sky watching!

I saw quite a few meteors last night coming out of Ft. Wayne heading towards Toledo. Pretty cool stuff. There have been quite a few the last few nights and the dark Interstates of Indiana and Ohio are great places to see the true effect of one.

 

I also got to see Ft. Wayne Int'l Airport at night along with Toledo's. Those kinds of sights make me miss aviation. I was running across the Toll Road by KTOL and had a DC-8 fly right over on short final... that was cool until the rumble strips awoke me from my daze.

Most nights I can't see many stars, let alone meteors. There is so much reflected city light in DC area that on some cloudless but high-humidity nights the moon is all you can see.
