CLEVELAND, Ohio — The busiest carrier at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport — Continental partner ExpressJet — is being bought by another regional airline, SkyWest.
The acquisition brings together two of the country’s largest regional carriers, and continues a consolidation trend in the regional sector spurred by pressure from major airlines to cut costs. It also brings together commuter airlines for Continental and its planned merger partner, United Airlines.
