CRAIN’S CLEVELAND BUSINESS – Cleveland-based fractional share and jet card provider, Flexjet, announced it has added two luxury Gulfstream G650s to its portfolio.
Flexjet, which was purchased by Cleveland aviation entrepreneur Kenn Ricci in 2013, took delivery of its first G650 on October 4th, 2017, direct from Gulfstream in Savannah, Georgia. The aircraft then performed a series of acceptance/initial operations flights to Youngstown–Warren Regional Airport from Cuyahoga County Airport. Its second G650 is due to be delivered next week.
In a release, Flexjet said the G650 is the “fastest non-supersonic jet to go around the world with just one fuel stop.” The aircraft’s cabin features four sections, including a private stateroom. Also, the release said the aircraft’s cabin is the “quietest and largest in its class” and 100% of the cabin air is refreshed every two minutes, “eliminating stagnant air and impurities.”
Forbes recently featured Flexjet’s new aircraft, which the publication reported boast a price tag of $60 million apiece. The aircraft will be added to Flexjet’s “Ultra Long Range Jet Collection.”
“The ultra-long range category has continued to grow year over year. With more than 250 Gulfstream G650 aircraft in operation to date, it is an iconic aircraft in this class. To see the Flexjet livery on one of the finest aircraft in business aviation is truly a proud moment for all of us,” Ricci said in a statement. “This is a pivotal moment in Flexjet’s history as we solidify our position as a major player in the global private aviation space.”

According to the release, the two G650s will be the eighth and ninth Gulfstream aircraft to join the Flexjet fleet out of a total order of 50, including seven G450s delivered previously. Early next year, eight of the Gulfstream G500 aircraft — the successor of the Gulfstream G450 — will join the fleet. Flexjet said it will be the North American launch customer for the aircraft.
