Despite the heavy squalls and strong winds associated with the season’s first big lake-effect snow event, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport remains open. However, many flights have been impacted.
Airport spokesperson Jacqueline Mayo tells Fox 8 News that Continental and United airlines have pulled about half their flights on Monday, mainly because of the wind.
Fox 8’s Emily Valdez reports that the cancelled flights were on smaller planes, and that all affected customers were re-booked.
Normal operations are expected to resume on Tuesday morning.
