USA - Navy Boeing E-6A / E-6B (707-320) Mercury |
Cleveland - Hopkins International (CLE/KCLE) USA - Ohio, October 17, 2007 |
E. Jones Contact |
|
Registration/Serial No. | Remarks & Notes | |||
Unknown (cn Unknown) This US Navy E-6B Mercury was doing touch-and-goes on RWY 24R at CLE for a while (10/17/2007). The aircraft is a communications, command, and control platform for the Navy. The modified Boeing 707’s mission is called TACAMO II ("Take Charge and Move Out"). See the US Navy fact file for much more information on this sophisticated aircraft. Some of the many communications systems can be seen such as the “hump” on the top of the fuselage and wing-tip HF antennae. These aren’t my best quality shots but the aircraft was a rare sight and worth sharing. |

N411UA (cn 464) A United A320 is taxiing to its gate while in the distance, a Continental 737-800 is on the takeoff roll on 24C and an ExpressJet E145 is on very short final for 24R. If you look closely over the top of the 737, you can just see the 3/4 scale P-51 Mustang newly mounted on the grounds of the 100th Bomb Group restaurant on Brookpark Rd. October 17, 2007 |
