| N15509 (cn 145238) One of the most incredible sunsets I'd ever seen, was this one on the evening of September 18, 2003 when outer bands of Hurricane Isabel stretched all the way to Michigan while the eye of the storm itself was making landfall between Cape Lookout and Ocracoke Island North Carolina with sustained winds of 105 mph. At one time in its life it obtained category 5 status, but was a "mere" category 2 here. | |||
