None (cn None) This should bring back some memories for some. A look at the old control tower, taken from the old outdoor observation deck on top of the West Concourse. If you recall, it cost .10 cents to get through the turnstiles for the obs area. Once out there, there was even a snack bar halfway down the concourse. I sure do miss those days...

my parents would take my sister and i to watch the people boarding on saturday nights. the prop planes with there smoke belching from the exhaust pipes when starting. the boeing 707's and caravelles were awesome. the 727's were smokey on take-offs, and my dad laughing, "those engines must run on coal".

I remember the scene well- walking out to the noise and smell of jet fuel....that chain link fence was added later in the 70's a few years before the concourse was rebuilt. The snack bar was rarely open towards the late 1960's, and I never remember it being open in the 70's-Dad always bought me a Sundae down in the terminal after some plane watching - priceless memories.
