This also reminds me of the strange gate designations back then. IIRC, the West Concourse (B) had 1-10, North Concourse (A) 20-30, and eventual South Concourse (C) 38-57. What gives? Why the large gaps in numbering? |

Thanks for posting this interior shot. That master flight board was pretty slick in its day. I vaguely remember this lobby. |

And don't forget- no security during that time- you could go where you pleased- without a ticket. We would occasionally wander around the gates, but I recall that the service vehicles were always parked in such a way that you could not see much of the aircraft from ground level out the concourse windows. |

So cool..I remember the flight board but not quite like that. Also all the ticket counters were on the ground floor with baggage claim next to the counters...early 70s |

I believe that was the railing for the globe in the postcard. Pretty sure it was a golden globe, and I seem to remember a figure over it? Not sure on that. |

Yes, I remember that globe, and that could be what that circular railing in the postcard is for. |

I forgot about the car! Was there a big globe in the center of the lobby? I wish I had a picture of the snack bar/souvenir shop that was there. After an evening of plane watching, Dad would take me for an ice cream sundae and I would look at all the toy airplanes and stuff they had on sale there. Those were the best times! |

I've been looking/hoping for a pic of the main lobby! This is completely how I remember it...except I don't see the shiny new car that would spin on its display. Unless that's the edge of the display to the immediate left in this postcard. Thanks for posting this Ken! |
