Airlines were not allowed under chinese law to serve both Mainland China and Taiwan; therefore a number of Asia airlines were formed, one of which was SwissAir Asia (others were KLM Asia, British Asia Airways, Air France Cargo Asia, Lufthansa used Condor, etc...just to name a few). Swissair had two MD11s designated for this role. By the way, the tail inscription is Mandarin for Switzerland. |

Interesting tail logo. Must be a one of a kind. Have never seen it on Swissair before. |
